John “Gary” Macdonald is President and COO of Midway Rent A Car, Inc. Gary is responsible for the leadership, direction, and performance of the company. Midway Rent A Car, Inc. operates as Midway Auto Group with multiple auto related business enterprises; Midway Car Rental, Midway Group, Midway Fleet Leasing, and Midway Rideshare. Gary is also President of Wilshire Solutions USA, Inc., focusing on growing the group’s international automotive services business.
Mr. Macdonald joined the group in 1976 and has held the responsibilities of President since 1986. Prior to 1986, Gary held a variety of management positions focused on growth and development of the daily car rental business.

As shareholder and officer, Gary has participated in, and developed expansion into, the many additional services and products the company currently operates in.
Gary is a Board Member of the Mid-Wilshire Kiwanas Club of Los Angeles, and has been an active member of the business community – he and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Car Rental Association.
Born, raised and currently resides in the Los Angeles suburb of Altadena. Gary is married and has four children.
