Bret Hankey is Vice President of Westlake Financial Services. Bret is responsible for overseeing the originations of subprime, near-prime and prime automotive retail installment contracts.

Bret Hankey graduated from the University of Southern California in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance degree, with an emphasis in Real Estate. In 2005, he completed the General Dealership Management program from the National Automobile Dealers Association in McLean, VA.

Upon graduating from USC, Bret began his career at the Hankey Group with a focus on the automobile industry. His first role was at Daewoo and Suzuki of Los Angeles where, from 2001 to 2003, he started as a sales person and moved up to sales manager, fleet manager, used car manager and ultimately became the company’s operations manager. In 2003, Bret joined Midway Ford as general sales manager. Bret was subsequently promoted to general manager of Midway Ford and Suzuki of Los Angeles in 2005 and served as such until 2007. Throughout his tenure at Midway Ford and Suzuki of Los Angeles, Bret’s duties included management of more than 100 employees with a primary objective of gaining market share and providing excellent customer service to the dealership’s customers.

Bret’s focus, since joining Westlake’s management team, is on continuation of the company’s advances as a leader in the auto-financing industry. He believes this will be accomplished by “empowering people, increasing efficiencies, lowering origination
costs, enhancing teamwork and most importantly, having fun while
you are working.”
